Well, the title of this post sort of gives it away, but I got into Boston University today. And received BU's $10,000/year renewable Dean's Scholarship, which is one of the highest merit-based scholarships they offer. Of course, this makes it only highly improbable (instead of impossible) that we would be able to pay tuition, but still. It's nice to get that sort of thing.

This is my most recent desktop, though I change the picture there once or twice a week when the urge strikes me. And as you can probably tell, I hate having icons cluttering up the space--the only ones that I allow to stay are my IM, My Computer, the Recycling Bin, and whatever project I'm working on currently.

Date: 2005-03-25 05:42 pm (UTC)RoughDraft is a freeware word processor that I absolutely love to death, because it's frill-less and geared toward writers. It doesn't have any of the extraneous baggage that comes with MS Word, but it has the functions you do need, like spellcheck, word count, and a spiffing "pad" feature that allows you to take notes in a little margin area associated with each file. Also, it has three modes--regular, screenplay, and stage/radio play, which are easy to use and a lot more fun than cursing at other programs' block quote tab fritziness. If you're interested, you can take a more in-depth look at it here (http://www.rsalsbury.co.uk/rd_overview.htm).
