Oh. My. God.

Just got Photoshop to play with and Oh. My. God.

I am now head over heels in love with my brand-new shiny toy, and I've made more icons in the past week than I have in the past month. I've even worked up the nerve to send some of my stills along to fandom contests--I'm not expecting to win, of course, but it's more fun to work against a deadline than just to work.

Speaking of deadlines, my NaNo novel is coming along nicely--I'm only about 2000 words behind. Seeing as we're spending four days at a resort where there will be nothing for the less swimming-minded of our family to do except write, I expect to finish two days before the deadline. I haven't looked back at what I've written yet, but there are some truly silly moments and some truly awful dialogue. Isn't that what NaNo's all about?

Oh, and Carmen's Strange Occurrence of the Day:

I was walking along I street downtown after my GW class let out and saw one of my classmates talking on his cell phone in front of me. Since it's awkward to say hello to someone who's on a phone, I trailed along behind him for a block or so and waited until he concluded his conversation, at which point I greeted him with a cheery, "Hey, Jonathan."

He turned, looked at me oddly, and said, "What?"

"Hi," I repeated, noticing that he was wearing glasses. "Did you always wear glasses?"

He started to back away from me, clearly confused, so I shrugged and glanced back along the sidewalk. Approaching from behind me was another Jonathan, this one without glasses.

"There are two of you," I said, rather stupidly. "Wait--there are two of you."

"Hey Carmen," said Jonathan v. 2.0. "This is my twin David."

"Oh," I said, looking from one to the other. Their voices, haircuts, faces, body structures--everything--were exactly the same. "Oh," I repeated. I was feeling particularly inclined to disappear into the nearest manhole.

So then we stood, the two Jonathans (except one was a David) and I on the streetcorner, and had a nice conversation. I found out that I like David as much as I like Jonathan--both are amiable, funny, and quick-witted. In fifteen minutes or so, I took a peek at my watch, realized I needed to go, and waved goodbye as I descended into the Metro station. I'm still a little in shock, and more than a little embarrassed. But Note to Self: the one with the glasses is not Jonathan.

*sobs to pieces* I've been an artist for years and have not yet gotten Photoshop. You are so blessed...*cries* I do want it. So much. For my CG art isn't really CG without it. -_-;;

Eh...NaNo? *chuckles, looks around, whistles* Riiight...about that....(10,000 words. O_o Yeah. Not finishing this.)

Amusing twin incident. Actually, I've had that happen to me before as well. I do know the sort of lurch your mind gives for a second as it attempts to file that new piece of information away...looking back and forth as if you're stuck in between layers of mirrors- but then you realise over time that twins can be very different people. ^^
