Hello, everyone!
I don't know if anyone is interested in what I have to say here, but I've been trying to keep a journal off and on for most of my life and I figure this is as good a way as any to force myself to stay with it. If I don't update, I'll feel like I'm letting someone down.
Right now I have quite a bit of life going on, both online and offline. (I know - you're wondering where I ever came up with the idea that there's a life offline!) Orchestra is tomorrow, and I'm playing xylophone on Sabre Dance, which is one insanely fun - not to mention insanely difficult - part. I'm playing xylophone for a few other pieces as well, but none of those parts are nearly as enjoyable.
I'm writing my tail off on new story ideas that have been popping into my head over the past few weeks, and neglecting my fan fiction to the point where I haven't updated in far too long. I really need to find some time to continue writing my novel-length Star Wars piece, but I haven't had enough time to devote both to real life and to Star Wars lately. (Oh, and in case you're wondering, I write under the name Xaara nearly everywhere.)
Valentine's Day is tomorrow, and although some people complain about having yet another holiday during the course of which Hallmark makes bundles of money, I can hardly complain about a day devoted to the ingestion of chocolate. (Of course, I have to maintain my chocolate high through Orchestra or I'll never make it anyway, but that's another story.)
Well, I'd better be moving along on the homework I still haven't finished, which means reading the Hemingway I've been putting off for ages and ages. For Whom the Bell Tolls is an impressive book in its own right, but it's just so depressing and dreary - Hemingway manages to make the most exciting parts sound dull and the most dull parts sound dead. But maybe that's just me.
Later,
Carmen
